Eagles reach OHF semifinals
Ennismore Juveniles go 3-1-1 at OHF AAA championship tournament
The Ennismore Robert Young Construction Juvenile Eagles posted a 3-1-1 record at the Ontario Hockey Federation AAA championships in Belle River in Essex County on the weekend with their lone loss eliminating them in the semifinals.
The Eagles emerged from found-robin play in first place with a 3-0-1 record. Ennismore kicked off the tournament on Friday beating the Ajax Knights, the team they beat in the OMHA final, 3-1.
Scoring for Ennismore was Nick Julian with two goals and Jared Foxon with. Assists went to Pat Young with two, Ethan Young and Adam Kitchen.
In Game 2, Ennismore tied Humberview Huskies 3-3. Scoring for Ennismore were James Allen, Billy Clarke and Julian. Pat Young had two assists with singles to Eric Sutton and Kitchen.
On Saturday, Ennismore beat the Toronto Colts 3-1. Pat Young and Julian each had a goal and an assist while Foxon also scored.
In Game 4, Ennismore beat the Belle River Canadians 4-0. Scoring for Ennismore were Jordan McCormick, Frank Sullivan, Foxon and Pat Young. Assists went to Julian and Sullivan with two each and Kitchen, Sutton and Jack Kangas with singles.
The Eagles lost 4-2 to the Colts in Sunday morning’s semifinal. Foxon and Julian scored with assists to Pat Young, Kitchen, Sullivan and Allan.
Jonathan Thain played well in net throughout the tournament.
