We’ve heard enough from no-casino crowd

-

Is anyone else getting sick and tired of Roy Brady’s continuing interference in everyone’s life? Maybe the people hoping to get jobs at the new casino and hotel should start and action against him for possible future job loss? Maybe tax payers should sue Mr. Brady for higher taxes we will have to pay because of the loss of income to the city from the casino?

Mr. Brady should be taken to task by the majority of citizens who want the benefits that will be gained. He is infringing on rights by trying to dictate how we should live, how we should spend our money and how we should spend our recreational time.

Its time for Mr. Brady to move on to a new topic. Hopefully he and his “bunch” will run out of money to keep up this tired cause.

Seniors get a bad rap for not being progressive and resisting change preferring to remain in the past and turn back the clock. While not at all true for a great many of us, Mr. Brady and his negative following (mostly seniors and retired folk) make it difficult to change this perception. W. Dunk McClennan St. participants showed they have what it takes to be part of the next generation of Ontario’s skilled trades professionals.

The demand for skilled trades professionals in Ontario continues to rise. That’s why we must reach out to young people and encourage them to explore the skilled trades and complete an apprenticeship program—a major step towards a stable a successful career.

Navigating the apprenticeship pathway has been made less intimidating through our youth-oriented website, Earn While You Learn. ca, which is chockful of information on the over 150 skilled trades in Ontario. After finding the trade that’s right for you, the College’s HireWithConfidence.ca job board helps connect you with those looking to hire.

I want to thank those readers who show their support for the skilled trades community—It’s important we continue to encourage the next generation of skilled trades professionals to ensure a strong Ontario economy.

Once again, congratulations to all the winners on their impressive achievements! David Tsubouchi Registrar & CEO of the Ontario College of Trades
