Knit in Public

Emmanuel United Church’s Knitting Club is hosting a Knit in Public (KIP) event on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. All are invited to attend; bring your knitting or other needlework and a lawn chair. Light refreshments will be provided. World Wide Knit in Public (WWKIP) Day was started in 2005 by Danielle Landes, and began as a way for knitters to come together and enjoy each other’s company. Knitting is such a solitary act that it’s easy to knit alone.

This year WWKIP Day took place on June 10th and unfortunately Emmanuel’s Knitting Club wasn’t able to participate that day.

According to Lyn Miller, a group member, “Our enthusiasm will be just as strong, just on a different date.”

This is the third KIP event that the group has participated in. Wednesday’s event takes place on the front lawn of Emmanuel West, 441 Rubidge Street.
