Invado fundraising
Invado Volleyball is calling on Peterborough players to support a fundraising tournament they are hosting in Pickering on Aug. 26 for a Durham Region family going through a tough time. Nick Sang is a player and coach for Invado and is well known in Ontario volleyball circuits. He and his wife Brandy have two children. According to a note on the Invado website “While working in his garage this past June, Nick collapsed (for reasons unknown) and was found unresponsive. Of course, paramedics were called to the scene immediately and after being rushed to hospital, fortunately and thankfully, Nick was able to regain consciousness... but only after a few days.” Sang is dealing with some physical and cognitive issues and has been unable to return to work at Yamaha Motor Canada, states the website. in addition to a Go Fund Me page set up by a family member, Invado will donate all proceeds from the tournament to the Sang family. The co-ed tournament (two girls, two guys per team) will take place from 10 a.m. to approximately 5 p.m. in Pickering. THere will be divisions for all skill levels. “With all proceeds going to the Sang family, we will not be having any cash prizes on the day but we will have some pretty amazing and awesome Invado Hoodys made up for each of the winning teams,” states Invado.
