Open house for Zerohouse at The Mount

- NAOMI STOCK naomi.stock@gmail.com

If you’ve been watching the construction of Zerohouse on the lawn of The Mount Community Centre, Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m., is your last chance to check it out before it is taken apart!

Zerohouse is an 850-aquare foot home that is zero net energy, zero carbon footprint and zero toxins. It is also completely prefabricated and modular, and challenges us to think about new ways to build and develop housing. It was built by faculty and students at the Endeavour Centre, a nonprofit sustainable building school located on High St. After Thursday, Zerohouse will be dismantled and shipped to Toronto where it will be displayed at EDIT -the Expo for Design, Innovation and Technology, alongside other “world changing and innovation ideas”. To learn more about Zerohouse or the Endeavour Centre, please visit www.endeavourcentre.org. The Mount Community Centre is located at 1545 Monaghan Rd.
