Drive For The Kids golf tourney raises $8,400
World Championship Martial Arts (WCMA) raised $8,400 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peterborough with the inaugural Drive For The Kids charity golf tournament.
Sponsored by LLF Lawyers and Blades of Glory Property Maintenance, in addition to 28 other sponsors or prize donors, the tournament took place Aug. 20 at The Quarry in Ennismore.
“We had some really amazing sponsors for the tournament ,” said WC MA co-owner Jordan Preston. “We had truly amazing support from the Peterborough community and are extremely proud of the results.”
WC MA is located in the Brook dale Plaza on Chemong Road.
“World Championship Martial Arts has a large children’s based population in our academy,” Preston said.
“We see on a regular basis how a little bit of mentoring in young children and youth can go a long way on their progress. We share very similar values as Big Brothers Big Sisters Peter borough so developing a partnership with them was an easy decision. This was our second annual tournament and due to the incredible success we are currently planning for next year.”
