Lakers running fan trip to Mann Cup series

-

After advancing to the Mann Cup national senior men’s box lacrosse championship on Thursday night with a win over the Six Nations Chiefs, the Peterborough Lakers are running a fan trip to New Westminster, B.C. for the series. The Lakers are facing the host Western Lacrosse Association champion New Westminster Salmonbellies. The Lakers defeated the Salmonbellies in 2010 for the Mann Cup. The trip will be similar to the one the Lakers ran in 2015 to Victoria, B.C. for the Mann Cup. The trip departs Sept. 8 and returns Sept. 17 (should the series end early, participants on the trip wanting to return home early would have to do so on their own). The best-of-seven Mann Cup series games are scheduled for Sept. 8, 9, 11 and 12, with games Sept. 13, 15 and 16 if necessary. Sept. 10 and 14 are rest days. The estimated cost of the trip is $2,000 to $2,100 per person, which includes bus transportation to and from Pearson Airport in Toronto, airfare to and from Vancouver and a doubleoccupancy hotel toom. The price does not include game tickets, meals or sightseeing costs. People who are able and willing to drive a rented van or car once in Vancouver are also needed. Anyone wanting to take part in the not-for-profit trip can contact Anne Taylor at the Lakers at ataylor@peterboroughlakers.ca or at 905-410-2105. Interested participants need to provide:

Names (as they appear on the identification you will use at the airport) and ages of all people in your party.

Address, e-mail address and phone number.

Whether you are willing to be a driver once in B.C.

If you are travelling alone, whether you are willing to share a room with another fan.

Whether you have any mobility issues and will need assistance at the airport and hotel.
