Petes banner raiser, kick-off party Thursday
The Peterborough ServiceMaster Restore Minor Bantam A Petes won the 2017 Mary Parkinson Memorial Tournament in Richmond Hill on Sunday. The season's Home Opener Kick-Off Party is being presented by Darling Insurance in the PMC parking lot from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the game. Entertaining the party crowd will be Petes alumnuis Matt McCartney and his band Northern Roads, as well as country artist Jordy Jackson. The event will also feature inflatables provided by Bouncers Are Us, face painting, a licensed area and food and beverage sales. Entrance to the party is free with a game ticket. The home opener pre-game ceremony will include the raising of the 2017 East Division Champions banner, as well as a ceremonial puck drop featuring representatives of Fleming College, the game's sponsor. During the game, a season ticket member will be awarded free Tim Hortons coffee for a year as part of the team's 30 Days of Giveaways presented by Tim Hortons. Fans that purchase and pay in full for season tickets by 5 p.m. Thursday will be eligible to win.
