Donald scores lone goal in Peewee AA Petes loss

The Peterborou­gh City Carstar U17 girls soccer team went undefeated this year in winning both the CSL League and Cup hampionshi­ps. The Peterborou­gh City Carstar U17 girls soccer team finished off their season by winning the CSL Cup championsh­ip on Sunday.

Earlier this month the girls captured the CSL league championsh­ip going undefeated with 14 wins and a tie and have earned promotion into the OYSL league for the 2018 season.

On Saturday, the girls played in the semifinal match against Richmond Hill Green coming away with a 5-2 victory. Brian Mulligan State Farm MVP of the game was Violet Hipkin who led the offence scoring three goals.

The Clearing House offensive players of the game went to Emma Twohey and Kelsey Russelle who both recorded a goal and an assist. The Brad Comeau Law Office defensive player of the game went to Cydney Cantello who played a strong game in goal. The Kirk Norris State Farm hardest worker of the game went to Karley Bradshaw.

On Sunday, Peterborou­gh beat Oakridge 5 -1 in the final. The Chemong Family Dental MVP of the game was Mackenzie Everson who covered both ends of the field and assisted on three goals.

The Robert Ruth Well Drilling offensive players of the game went to Twohey and Hipkin who scored two goals each. Russelle recorded the other goal. The Boyal Mechanical defensive players of the game went to Myah Crough, Amelia Lackie, Regan Delaire, Brook Bolton and Emily Doris. The Medical Centre Pharmacy hardest workers were the midfield players of Sydney Zeller, Leah Trebbne, Allison Lovick, Kylie Fife, Jocelyn Van Allen, Russelle and Everson.

In regular season action, Peterborou­gh led the league in goals for (87) with Hipkin and Twohey finishing one and two in league scoring with a combine goal total of 57. Peterborou­gh also led the league in goals against (six). The defensive core of Crough, Lackie, Bolton, Doris, Delaire and goalkeeper­s Comeau and Cantello led the way. The Peterborou­gh R.J. Brown peewee AA Petes lost 6-1 at Legends Arena against the Oshawa Generals on Wednesday. Scoring for the Petes was Charlie Donald assisted by Kris Kastelly and Matty Hinan.
