Knights swept by Lords in men’s soccer double-header

The Durham Lords swept an OCAA soccer double-header from the Fleming Knights on Wednesday night at the Fleming Sports Fields Complex.

The Lords prevailed 1-0 in the men’s game with keeper Dylan Yeo stopping 12 shots for the shutout while Xavier Wright scored the lone goal on 11 shots against Fleming’s Sam Barratt. The Knights finish the regular season 3-6-1 and will host the OCAA championsh­ips beginning next Thursday.

The Knights women’s season came to an end with a 4-0 loss dropping their record to 3-7-2 for fifth in the East Division.

Jayden Ball stopped seven shots for the clean sheet while Durham got two goals from Milinda Roblero with singles to Cory Lapointe and Lauren Coyle. Cieanna Boudrias made 29 saves for Fleming.
