PETES PIECES

- -- Mike Davies

Russelle Toyota is sponsoring a post-game Skate with the Petes on Sunday following the OHL club’s 2:05 p.m. match against the Hamilton Bulldogs.

The skate is free and open to all fans with a game ticket. Fans will get the opportunity to interact with the team and collect autographs.

Sunday’s game is being played in support of Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, a non-profit whose mission is to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Fans can take part in a second intermission chucka-puck for their chance to win a Petes jersey, a $75 Costco gift card and a $50 EB Games gift card. Additionally, fans can purchase raffle tickets at $5 each of five for $20 for a chance to win a pair of Toronto Maple Leafs tickets.

Fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to be featured on the video board during the game. Local artist Michaela Hetherington will perform the national anthem.

Roster notes

Pavel Gogolev has been suspended two games for his slashing major penalty in Thursday’s game against Saginaw. To get Adrien Beraldo and Matt McNamara into the lineup the Petes dressed seven defencemen and scratched Gleb Babintsev for the first time this season. John Parker-Jones also returned to the lineup while Nick Robertson remains out with a bad cut to his mouth (his brother Jason, of the Kingston Frontenacs, has smashed teeth after also taking a stick to the mouth in an Oct. 20 game in Sault Ste. Marie). Also scratched was Chad Denault.
