Education director raffling himself off
The education director for the local Catholic school board is raffling himself off yet again for the United Way.
Michael Nassello works for the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board.
Last year, he launched Put Your Director to Work Day. It’s a chance for the board’s employees to get a paid day off while Nassello does their job for the day.
Staff purchase raffle tickets to win the draw, which takes place Dec. 13 at the monthly director’s meeting at the board office.
The event is a fundraiser for the United Way campaign. The winner’s work location will determine which United Way will benefit. Peterborough, Durham, Kawartha Lakes and Northumberland United Ways are all on the table.
Tickets are $5 each or three for $12. They go on sale Wednesday and will be available at school locations and the board office.
The raffle is open to all of the Catholic board’s staff, whether they’re a teacher, principal, custodian or secretary.
In 2016, Nassello filled the role of an educational assistant at Lakefield’s St. Paul School. The raffle drew in $1,485 for the United Way.
Not only is the raffle an opportunity to support the United Way, Nassello stated in release, but it’s also a chance to experience a workday in someone else’s shoes.
“The raffle is a great opportunity to recognize the important roles all of our staff play each day in ensuring are students are given every opportunity to succeed,” Nassello stated.
