Two PMSC rallies this month to end season

The Peterborou­gh Motor Sports Club will finish its 2017 schedule with two events in November. On Saturday, the President’s Prize Rally will serve as the final event on the 2017 ORRC Series schedule. The 200 kilometre time-speeddista­nce navigation­al event is on municipal secondary roads and county/provincial highways. The start location is the Tim Hortons at 101 East St. S. (Kawartha Lakes Road 36), Bobcaygeon. Registrati­on starts at 9:30 a.m. with the first car off at 11 a.m. Novice, expert and touring divisions are offered. The entry fee is $45 per car. Contact Chris_johnson555@ hotmail.com for more informatio­n. The final event of the season is the PMSC Rally Sprint on Nov. 11 at the Burnt River Off-Road Vehicle Facility. Registrati­on starts at 9 a.m. with the event expected to be completed by 4 p.m. The entry fee is $220 in advance with $20 off if either driver or co-driver is a PMSC member or $250 on the day. The Lakefield Hendren Funeral Homes Chiefs rode Aaron Vatcher’s second straight hattrick to a 7-2 victory over the Uxbridge Bruins on Tuesday night.

Matt McIntyre, Ethan McDougall, Jacob Bennett nd Adam Meijer had single goals.

Jeff Hawthorne had three assists for the Chiefs, Meijer chipped in two and Cole Robbins, Luke Robinson, McIntyre and McDougall had singles.

Nic Mutton made 18 saves for the win.

Simon Feig and Daniel Wu scored for Uxbridge.

Jake Joosten made 26 saves in the loss.

The win now puts the Chiefs four points ahead of the secondplac­e Bruins.

Next action for Lakefield is Thursday night in Bowmanvill­e a g a i n s t t h e C l a r i n g t o n Eagles.
