Ennismore Heritage Christmas craft sale Saturday
The Ennismore Heritage Artspace Centre will have its annual Christmas craft sale on Saturday. The sale will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 507 Ennis Rd. in Ennismore. There will be free parking and free admission. Call 705-292-5112 for more information. This is a fund-raising event for the centre.
Christmas at the Marshland Centre
Christmas at the Marshland Centre will return on Nov.18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
There will be handcrafted work from more than 20 local artisans. Admission is free and donations for the Lakefield Food Bank and Lakefield Animal Welfare Society are welcome.
Bridgenorth United Church
Bridgenorth United Church will have an auction, both silent and live, on Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church at 832 Charles St.i n Bridgenorth. You can bid on a collection of both new and used items, as well as services and entertainment items. This year there will be a kayak (valued at $645) auctioned off between 12 and 12:30. There is sure to be something for everyone, just in time to start Christmas shopping. You can pop a balloon with a valuable surprise inside. Lunch will be available for purchase from the Tasty Lunch Bar. All are welcome.
Lakefield Santa Claus Parade
The Lakefield Lions Santa Claus Parade will be at 1 p.m. on Nov. 19. Registration will be from noon until 12:45 at the Lakefield Legion. There will be volunteers collecting non-perishable food for the Lakefield Food Bank along the parade route, as well as volunteers collecting toys for the Toy Drive.
Ennismore Seniors
The Ennismore Seniors have a new Celtic Dance program this fall. Taught by an experienced instructor, the class will be on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. next to the fire hall on Tara Road in Ennismore. All are welcome. For more information, phone Lorraine at 416-774-8756 or Lindy at 705-292-8101.

St. John the Baptist Anglican Church
St. John will have its Muffins and More sale on Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 81 Queen St. in Lakefield. There will be a baking, crafts, books, art, scarves, purses, plants and jewelry for sale. Admission is $5, and all proceeds support the church.
Selwyn Public Library
Saturdays
The Selwyn Public Library is starting a new After School LEGO Club for grades 3 and up. The program is drop-in from after school until 4:30 p.m. at all three branches: Tuesdays in Lakefield, Wednesdays in Bridgenorth and Thursdays in Ennismore. Parents must fill out an emergency contact form for children who want to participate. The form can be found at www.mypubliclibrary.ca under the After School Program link. The clubs start this week and run for 6 weeks. It’s an opportunity to use the library’s giant LEGO collection and get creative.
On Nov. 11 there will be a drop-in, all ages storytime at the Regency Retirement Home in Lakefield. There will be songs, stories, and a snack from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
