Everyone is welcome to attend to honour the people from Otonabee who served in both World Wars. Refreshments and entertainment will follow at the Lions Den (formerly the Legion Hall). For more information contact Neil Allen at 705-295-4369.

Another collision

County Road 2 is a pretty and well-maintained road, but the blind curve at Lakeside Road has seen at least four collisions this year. The latest was Thursday afternoon when a driver was hurt after her truck ended up in the ditch, upside-down and in the opposite direction.

Perhaps a sign should be posted approaching the curve, indicating how many days it has been since the last accident, like the signs posted outside some factories that say how long they have been accident-free.

In the meanwhile, slow down people, especially when you can’t see around the bend in front of you.
