Celebri­ties join in birth­day fun to roast talk-show host

Celebri­ties in­clud­ing Kim Kar­dashian, Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Hemsworth read out mean tweets about Jimmy Kim­mel to cel­e­brate his 50th birth­day on Mon­day.

The talk-show host cel­e­brated the mile­stone on his show Jimmy Kim­mel Live! on Mon­day and dis­cov­ered that a num­ber of stars had pre-recorded them­selves read­ing out mes­sages from his on­line haters in a special Jimmy Kim­mel edi­tion of his reg­u­lar Mean Tweets seg­ment.

Kar­dashian read out an old tweet from her husband Kanye West, who went on a Twit­ter rant at Kim­mel in 2013 af­ter he made a spoof about one of the rap­per’s bizarre in­ter­views.

“@kanyewest says ‘Jimmy Kim­mel put your­self in my shoes... oh no that means you would have got­ten too much good p---- in your life.’ Fair point, Kanye,” she said with a straight face.

Lawrence, who in­ter­viewed Kar­dashian re­cently while serv­ing as Kim­mel’s guest host, read out: “$1 mil­lion says your hair is fake, your boobs are fake and your feet are small and your nose is made of Play-Doh.”

Hemsworth joined in the sketch by read­ing out a tweet from a troll who wrote, “‘@jim­mykim­mel is a com­edy god. Like a de­formed, lame, hideous god, such as an­cient Greece’s Hep...hep.. hep­ati­tis?’” he said, strug­gling to pro­nounce Hephaes­tus. “‘But that ugly bozo is still a god.’ Jimmy, you don’t have hep­ati­tis. I would know,” he added with a wink.

Other mean tweets were read out my Halle Berry, who said, “You are a jack---d--- sucker,” Amy Schumer, who joked, “Jimmy Kim­mel, you still look like a potato,” and Liam Nee­son, who read a tweet say­ing Kim­mel “looks like a slightly bloated Car­son Daly.”

Other stars in­volved in the sketch in­cluded Kris­ten Bell, Michael Keaton, Will Fer­rell, Jeff Bridges, David Let­ter­man and Ray Ro­mano, who in­tro­duced the seg­ment to Kim­mel af­ter mak­ing a sur­prise ap­pear­ance.

Adam San­dler also came on as a sur­prise to present Kim­mel with a Game of Thrones-in­spired Iron Throne made out of party para­pher­na­lia, Ge­orge Clooney ap­peared in mock ret­ro­spec­tive of Kim­mel’s life, and James Tay­lor was an un­ex­pected mu­si­cal guest.


Jimmy Kim­mel cel­e­brated his birth­day Mon­day with some self-flag­el­la­tion.
