Singers see knew chorus director
The Kawartha Music Company, a small a cappella chorus, is looking for a new Chorus Director. The chorus is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, Region 16 and is a group of performanceoriented woman. The new chorus director should be a creative and dynamic leader with a strong musical background and a passion for barbershop style singing.
The chorus practices every Monday at 6:45 pm. at Trinity United Church ,360 Reid St .; practices are open to public and everyone is welcome.

History
The Peterborough Historical Society presents their monthly public lecture, Tuesday at 7:30 p.m ., featuring guest speaker Heather Caldwell who will be discussing Canadian Nursing Sisters – The Bluebirds 1914-1918. More than 2500 trained Canadian nurses, with an average age of 24, volunteered to serve in the Canadian Army Nursing Corps overseas in the First World War, including several nurses from the Peter borough area. A display of some items used by nurses overseas will accompany the talk. Caldwell in an amateur historian, a long-time historical re-enactor and volunteer at Lang Pioneer Village. Due to ongoing renovations at the Peterborough Public Library, this lecture takes place at the Lion’s Centre, 347 Burn ham St. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Public prayer
In Good Conscience: Sexuality, Diversity, Inclusion is the theme of a public prayer service, led by Father Leo Coughlin and friends on Friday at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of the Mount Community Centre, 1545 Monaghan Rd. This is the third in a series of public prayer services on a contemporary topic. There is no charge and all are welcome.
Craft Sale
St. John’s Anglican Church, 99 Brock St., presents a Fall Festival and Craft Sale, featuring craft and bake tables, books, jewellery, sweaters, Christmas decorations, knit and sewn articles, preserves, art cards and Lion’s Club Christmas cakes. The Tea Room will be serving tea, coffee, sandwiches and desserts for a small charge. This event takes place Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is organized by St. Margaret Guild; all proceeds goto various Outreach projects. Admission is free. Holly Tea and Bazaar
St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church is hosting their annual Holly Tea and Bazaar, Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Em manuel East United Church ,534 George St. Admission is $4 and includes a light lunch. Everyone is welcome.
Winter Concert
Accademia Musica presents a Winter Concert, Saturday at 12:30 p.m ., at Market Hall ,140 Charlotte St.
The first half of the concert will feature pianists, while violin ensembles will perform in the second half. Tickets are available at the door and are $7.50 for adults, children and seniors are free. Turkey Supper
Sacred Heart presents their annual Christmas Turkey Supper, Sunday at 5 p.m. The supper includes turkey, potatoes, dressing and all the trimmings. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children ages 6 to 12.
