Peterborough Archers host first tourney of season
The Peterborough Archers hosted its first tournament of the indoor season at Saugeen Shafts on Sunday.
Archers from across Ontario competedagainstthePeterborough Archers, with some travelling three hours or more to enter the tournament.
Once again the Peterborough Archers youth cleaned up in their divisions.
Dustin Watson posted the hihest score in the youth divisions to capture Cub Mens gold medal. Abbigail Bunn won the Cub Women class while her sister Kasey placed first in the Pre-Cub Women and her team mate, Kendra Wright, took the silver medal. Amelia Gagne won the gold in the Women Cub Recurve. Sam Taylor won the PreCub Men’s divison. In the Peewee Women, Alexis McGillivary placed first.
In the cadet Recurve divisions Zach Langley placed first in the men’s, while Zoe Burnett took the women’s with Mackenzie Costello placed second. The Junior Womens Compound gold medallist was Jessica Watson.
In the adult classes, John Doherty took the silver in the Master Men’s Compound class. Dave Watson placed third in the Men’s Compound Unlimited and Diane West placed first in the Women’s Compound Unlimited.
The Men’s Master Recurve was won by Ray Costello and the Master Bare Bow gold was won by Mike Hovey. Ty Burch won the Mens Compound Fixed Pin class.
The next event for the Peterborogh Archers is an IFAA event at Saugeen Shafts on Dec. 3.
