Rocker wants to end feud

But Liam Gallagher calls brother Noel ‘snobby, pompous’

Liam Gallagher’s ideal Christmas present would be an end to his feud with his brother Noel.

The sibling rockers have been feuding on and off since they broke up Oasis after a backstage altercation at a concert in Paris, France, in 2009, and their war of words has intensified over the past year.

Despite his anger at Noel, when asked in an interview with the Evening Standard what his ideal Christmas present would be he said, “I’ve got everything, man … No, I tell you what I want: I want our kid (Noel) to come to his f--ing senses. It’s in him, innit? That’s what I want for Christmas. Yeah, I love him, man. He’s my brother at the end of the day. He’s just a bit f--ing snobby. A bit pompous.”

The brothers have both released albums this year, and Liam’s debut solo effort, As You Were, outsold Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds’ Who Built the Moon? in its first week in stores.

Liam said he hoped lower sales of Noel’s record would bring him round to the idea of an Oasis reunion.

He said, “Maybe a couple of s--reviews and poor album sales, he’ll soon come round, won’t he? Listen, I enjoy the banter. But I’m f---ing arsed about reforming Oasis. I’m quite happy doing this. Just him coming to his senses. He used to be funny but now he’s just ... not bitter. Just a bit mean-spirited.”

Noel, the elder Gallagher brother, 50, has expressed fury at Liam, 45, who has regularly insulted him on Twitter, accusing him of “legitimizing ” abuse toward him and his family in a radio interview.

But Liam is unrepentant, saying, “He’s embarrassing the s--that’s coming out of his mouth at the moment. He needs to have a long holiday with (U2 frontman) Bono.”

At the moment, Liam isn’t expecting any Christmas reconciliation, as he told the newspaper that seeing his brother isn’t part of his holiday plans. He’s going to rent a cottage in the Cotswolds in England with girlfriend Debbie Gwyther.
