If you’re interested in how Peterborough may grow over the next two decades, then the city wants to hear from you.

This week, the city of Peterborough posted the latest in a series of online surveys; feedback is expected to help inform the forthcoming review and overhaul of the Official Plan.

The Official Plan is the blueprint for the city’s growth between now and 2041.

By then, Peterborough’s population is expected to have reached 115,000 people (from roughly 81,000 now).

Although the OP has been updated on occasion, it hasn’t had a complete overhaul since 1981.

The city is planning a series of public engagement meetings, over the next several months. The plan is expected done in September 2018.

The latest survey will be available online from Dec. 7 until Jan. 18 at www.peterborough.ca/planit.

It asks questions such as: Do you want to see the city grow out (as in, more suburbs) or up (apartment buildings)? Do you want to see more public park space, or more private open space?

A prior survey conducted in August and September. It received 791 online responses and 150 inperson responses from Fleming College and Trent University students.

A summary of the results from the previous survey is available online, also at www.peterborough.ca/planit.

For more information, or to get an alternate format of the survey, phone 705-742-7777, ext. 1494 or email planit@peterborough.ca.
