New home for financial planners
Weichel & Associates move to Water Street
Tom and Deb Weichel recently relocated their financial planning practice, Weichel & Associates to 565 Water Street, which is the former home of Peterborough Red Cross.
The historic building was built in 1888 and is called McWilliams Harstone House.
The Weichels spent months restoring the exterior brick, stone, chimney and roof, and refreshing the interior walls and floors.

Special Olympics championships
The City of Peterborough has been chosen to host the 2018 Special Olympics Ontario School Championships from May 29 – 31. There will be over 1000 secondary school athletes in town along with their friends and family, so it’s a significant economic boost for the City.

Podcast launched
Heather Watson and Brendan Quigley of acorn 30, a local marketing agency, recently launched The Marketing Podcast, a weekly look at trends in marketing and technology, focussed on how small and medium businesses can leverage these trends. Online profiles
Meanwhile Neil Morton and Cody May of PtboCanada recently launched a bi-weekly online show focussed on profiling local people of influence, from entrepreneurs to artists, innovators to athletes. You can find it on the PtboCanada facebook page.
