Santa Claus parade winners announced

To all the contributors to this column and its readers I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and the best of 2018.

Parade winners

Winners from the entries of this year’s Santa Claus parade are as follows: Public float, Murray Fallaise; Schools and Churches, Lady Eaton Elementary School; Not for profit, Omemee Children’s Centre and Commercial, Omemee Veterinary Hospital.

Congratulations to all who participated in the parade and made it great.

Food bank

Donations for the food bank can be given at local churches as well as Omemee Foodland. Unfortunately supplies diminish over the holidays but the need never ends.

Directors sought

The Omemee Medical Centre is looking for interested people to sit on the Board of Directors. The Board consists of up to nine members and four will be completing their terms. The current Board has been in place since 2007 so new blood and thoughts are needed. The Board meets four evenings per year. Their goal is to bring health care services to Omemee. Seniors meetings

Omemee Seniors will meet Dec. 19 at 1 p.m. at the Omemee Legion for euchre. Cost is $2.50 per person. Annual fee for the seniors is $10. For information call Jean at 705-799-6434 or Pauline 705-7995856.

Luncheon

Janetville Pastoral Charge (Janetville and Mount Horeb United Churches) will hold a community luncheon will be held Dec. 21, noon at Janetville United. A free will offering is collected for the local elementary school food programs.
