Supryka fills in on depleted blueline

Cameron Supryka made his Petes’ debut on Sunday with three Petes’ defencemen sidelined. Austin Osmanski served the first of a two-game suspension for slew footing and Cole Fraser was out with an ankle injury sustained Friday in Oshawa. Declan Chisholm was already out with a high ankle sprain. Nick Isaacson was out with an upper body injury and John Parker-Jones was a healthy scratch.

Holiday hours at Petes’ store

The Petes Store has special hours for the holiday shopping season.

The store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Christmas Eve from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The store is closed Dec. 25-26 and returns to normal business hours on Dec. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Christmas break

Following their Sunday game against the Hamilton Bulldogs the Petes began an 11-day holiday break between games.

Players will return to practice on Dec. 27 and the Petes will play Dec. 28 when they visit the Guelph Storm. Their next home game is Dec. 30 against the Ottawa 67’s at 7:05 p.m. They also host the Kitchener Rangers at 2 p.m. on New Year’s Day.

Rinkboard contest

The Petes’ Playoff Push Rinkboard Draw is now open for businesses, charitable organizati­ons and other groups looking to improve brand exposure, states a Petes’ press release.

Until Jan. 2 (while supplies last) organizati­ons can enter a draw to win a free rinkboard at the Memorial Centre with potential exposure to 400,000 consumers annually.

One lucky organizati­on will win a non-televised rinkboard advertisem­ent (2.5’ x 8) from January to August 2018. The value of the rinkboard is $2,000 (cost of production is included).

To enter, organizati­ons must commit to purchasing a minimum of 50 tickets for the Petes game against the reigning Memorial Cup champion Windsor Spitfires on Jan. 4. Participan­ts can receive two ballots by purchasing 50 regular bowl tickets at a discounted price of $10 each ($500 tax included) regular price $1,050) or receive one ballot by purchasing 50 SunLife Financial Family Zone tickets at a discounted price of $6 each ($300 tax included; regular price $600). The draw will take place on Jan. 4.
