ART: The Kawartha Artists' Gallery and Studio presents The Winter Show, an art show and sale featuring works from KAGS' members. Feature piece: Out in the Canoe by Daniel Marlatt. Runs until Dec. 22 and continues from Jan. 3 to 21. The opening reception will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. The gallery is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. and Thursdays from 1 to 7 p.m. Admission is free. ART: Reverence for Life fine art exhibit at The Mount Community Centre, 1545 Monaghan Rd., featuring Anne Cavanagh's and Ellen Cowie's fine art. The Heritage Room is new gallery space in Peterborou­gh, open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Continues until Jan. 14. Closing reception is Jan.14 from 1 to 4 p.m., when you can meet the artists and see additional artworks on display for sale that day. Free.

CONCERT: A Next Generation Leahy Christmas perform starting at 7 p.m. at Showplace Performanc­e Centre, 290 George St. All under the age of 16, The Next Generation Leahy are all accomplish­ed multi-instrument­alists whose live performanc­es are filled with the high-energy, infectious Celtic-based music associated with their Leahy heritage, including fiddle, cello, French accordion, singing, piano and French-Canadian step-dancing.
