Pre-trial dates to be set next month

Two men charged in the killing of a Stewart St. res­i­dent in 2016 will set a date in Fe­bru­ary for their pre-trial.

Jor­dan Os­borne, of Aylmer St., and Joseph Craw­ford, of Dal­housie St., are both charged in con­nec­tion with the killing of Terry Pringle.

Pringle, 42, was found dead of blunt force trauma in his apart­ment in Nov. 2016. Six peo­ple, in­clud­ing a pair of teenage boys, were charged in the killing.

Os­borne, 25, is fac­ing first­de­gree mur­der, con­spir­acy to com­mit an in­dictable of­fence and ac­ces­sory to mur­der.

Craw­ford, 29, is charged con­spir­acy to com­mit an in­dictable of­fence and ac­ces­sory to mur­der.

They’ll be in Peter­bor­ough’s Su­pe­rior Court of Jus­tice on Feb. 7 to set a date for their pre-trial. The duo will later be tried be­fore a jury.

Mean­while, the judge-alone trial for one of the youth al­legedly in­volved in Pringle’s death starts Mon­day. The 16-year-old, who can’t be named un­der the Youth Crim­i­nal Jus­tice Act, is charged with mur­der and con­spir­acy to com­mit mur­der.

The other three co-ac­cused, Christo­pher Bolton, Sa­man­tha Hall and the other teenager, pleaded guilty and have been sen­tenced.

Bolton, of Bethune St., got 9 1/2 months in jail for con­spir­acy to com­mit as­sault caus­ing bod­ily harm.

Hall, of Stewart St., was sen­tenced to about 11 more months in jail for con­spir­acy to com­mit an in­dictable of­fence caus­ing bod­ily harm.

A 17-year-old boy got an­other eight months in jail and then four months su­per­vised in the com­mu­nity for man­slaugh­ter.
