Vehicle in snowbank

Members of the public called police with concerns about other drivers twice this weekend, leading to charges.

In the first incident, police were called around 11 p.m. Friday after a vehicle ended up in a snowbank outside a house at Princess and Maude streets. The caller gave police a descriptio­n of the driver, who had left the scene and had been spotted walking west on Princess St.

A police officer located a man and determined he had been driving the vehicle.

He was given a breath test and arrested.

Steven Ray Morden, 48, of

Princess St., was charged with driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood. He was released and will appear in court March 1.

In the second case, a person driving east on Lansdowne St. at about 5 p.m. Saturday called to report an erratic driver.

Police tracked the vehicle down at a local home and smelled alcohol while speaking to the driver.

After a breath test, Drew William Brown, 28, of Sydenham Rd., was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

He was released and will appear in court March 1.
