Pedestrian killed in Campbellford
CAMPBELLFORD - A woman is dead after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Campbellford on Monday morning.
Northumberland OPP officers were called to the scene at about 11:04 a.m. after she was struck on Bridge Street East at Front Street North in Campbellford, police. said.
The 56-year-old Trent Hills woman was taken by paramedics to Campbellford Memorial Hospital where she died.
Police did not release the name of the woman on Monday.
Bridge Street East between Front Street North and Doxsee Avenue was closed to traffic for several hours to allow for an investigation involving OPP Technical Traffic Collision investigators/reconstructionists into how the collision happened.
By about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Bridge Street East had reopened to traffic, Const. Steve Bates stated.
A Canadian Diabetes Association used items pickup truck was on the street in the cordoned off section of the street.
