Woman hit, killed by Via Rail train
COBOURG -- Cobourg Police are investigating after a woman was hit and killed by a Via Rail passenger train Monday morning in Cobourg.
Police say it happened at 8:49 a.m. at the D’Arcy Street crossing in the community south of Peterborough.
No foul play is suspected. Cobourg police, CN police and the coroner are investigating.
The rail crossing was closed temporarily Monday morning, reopening after 11 a.m.
Police did not name the woman on Monday.
