Hoggarth impresses in Bandits debut

Buffalo wins a pair to move into first place in NLL’s East Division

Peterborou­gh’s Thomas Hoggarth had a goal in both games in his debut with the Buffalo Bandits as Buffalo picked up two wins over the weekend to move into first place in the National Lacrosse League’s East Division.

The Bandits beat the New England Black Hawks 18-13 on Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Ct. Peterborou­gh’s Shawn Evans had five goals and two assists on 17 shots for the Black Wolves.

On Saturday the Bandits doubled the Georgia Swarm at the Key Bank Center in Buffalo.

Vinc gets win for Rochester

Peterborou­gh Laker Matt Vinc made 38 saves to help lead the Rochester Knighthawk­s over the Georgia Swarm 17-10 on Sunday.

Peterborou­gh’s Cory Vitarelli had two goals and three assists and Josh Currier had a goal and two assists for Rochester. Peterborou­gh’s Jake Withers was 18 for 28 on the faceoff for the Knighthawk­s.

Currier scores pair in Roughnecks win

CALGARY — Dane Dobbie had four goals and three assists and Peterborou­gh Laker Curtis Dickson had three goals and two helpers as the Calgary Roughnecks beat the Colorado Mammoth 13-9 on Saturday in National Lacrosse League play.

Peterborou­gh Lakers’ Zach

Currier and Holden Cattoni each had a pair of goals for the Roughnecks (3-5), who got singles from Wesley Berg and Mitch Wilde.

Jacob Ruest led the Mammoth (4-3) with a hat trick while Stephen Keogh and Jeremy Noble each added two goals and two assists. Eli McLaughlin also struck twice to round out the offence.

Christian Del Bianco made 51 saves for the win as Dillon Ward stopped 37 shots in a losing cause.

Rob Hellyer, Dan Craig lead the way as Rock down Knighthawk­s 12-9

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rob Hellyer and Dan Craig each scored twice as the Toronto Rock downed

the Rochester Knighthawk­s 12-9 on Saturday in National Lacrosse League play.

Peterborou­gh Lakers’ Adam Jones and Brock Sorensen, along with Kieran McArdle, Brett Hickey, Brodie Merrill, Billy Hostrawer, Latrell Harris and Reid Reinholdt also scored for the Rock (5-3).

Joe Resetarits led the way with four goals for the Knighthawk­s (2-6), who got singles from Graeme Hossack, Brad Gillies, Dylan Evans, Josh Currier and Cody Jamieson.

Nick Rose made 36 saves for the win as Matt Vinc stopped 44 shots in a losing cause.

Kirk gets win for Saskatchew­an

LANGLEY, B.C. — Curtis Knight had four goals and an assist and Robert Church had three goals and eight points as the Saskatchew­an Rush toppled the Vancouver Stealth 16-9 on Saturday in National Lacrosse League action.

Ben McIntosh also had a hat trick while Mark Matthews added two goals and two assists for the Rush (8-1). Jeff Shattler, Matt Hossack, Matthew Dinsdale and Chris Corbeil rounded out the offence.

Logan Schuss led the Stealth (1-8) with two goals and two assists as Cliff Smith, Tyson Roe, Pat Saunders, James Rahe, Tony Malcom, Brandon Clelland and Andrew Suitor added singles.

Peterborou­gh Laker Evan Kirk made 38 saves for the win as Brodie MacDonald stopped 31 shots to take the loss.
