Theatre Guild presenting The Cripple of Inishmaan

The Cripple Of Inishmaan is the current production on stage at the Peterborou­gh Theatre Guild, 364 Rogers St.

The play is a black comedy written by Martin McDonagh and directed by long time guild member Jerry Allen.

The play opened Feb. 23 and runs until March 10 and is the Guild’s entry in the Eastern Ontario Drama League’s full-length play festival for 2018.

Live Owls Return

If you are you interested in seeing live birds of prey, check out a morning of Owl Discovery at the Peterborou­gh Museum and Archives. The Ontario Falconry Centre returns to the museum March 3 from 9:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m. for the second of two visits.

The Ontario Falconry Centre is slated to present shows every 30 minutes in the museum’s education classroom.

Show times are at 9:30 a.m.; 10 a.m.; 10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Attendees can get a closer look at live owls, hawks, eagles and more.

Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis with a set number of 35 spots available per show.

Upstairs, visitors can explore the Northern Owls exhibit and participat­e in Owl Trivia and Eye Spy challenges.

Admission is by a suggested donation of $10/per family. The museum is located at 300 Hunter St. E., on top of Armour Hill. For details about the event, contact the museum at 705-743-5180.

Horticultu­ral Society

Peterborou­gh Horticultu­ral Society presents February meeting planned for Feb. 28, beginning at 7 p.m. at Peterborou­gh Lions Community Centre, 347 Burnham St.

Guest speaker is Marian Jean, who will discuss Dahlias, From History To Harvest.

In addition to monthly meetings, the group hosts activities like plant sales, hands-on workshops, and flower & photograph­y competitio­ns. They also have lending library of gardening books for members.

Kawartha Woodturner­s Guild

The Kawartha Woodturner­s Guild presents their monthly meeting Mar. 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Peterborou­gh Lions Community Centre, located at 347 Burnham St.

The non-profit group meets September through June and has a different speaker each month. They also have a show and tell table, where members display and talk about their creations.

Income Tax returns

Free tax prep sessions return to Mark St. United Church, 90 Hunters St. E.

This tax clinic is for people with an annual income below $30,000 or couples with an annual income below $40,000.
