THURSDAY, March 15
MUSIC: Rosie’s Revue 2, an event supporting International Women’s Day and featuring live music, poetry and special guests, takes place Thursday at 8:30 p.m. at Sadleir House, 751 George St. N., with all proceeds going to YWCA Crossroads Shelter. Doors open at 8 p.m. Musical guests include Kerry
Jayne, Missy Knott, Hillary Dumoulin, Mary-Kate Edwards, and Paper Shakers. There will also be poetry by Elisha Rubacha, Justin Million and Stephen Stamp, a special guest speaker from the YWCA and a bar that accepts cash and debit. MUSIC: Friends in Music, a Community Band for all ages,ability levels, and instruments including strings, meets weekly Thursdays 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Long and McQuade, Alymer St. Contact: friendsinmusic.ca or via Facebook. SENIORS: Whitlaw Mariners Seniors Club, located at McDonnel St. Activity Centre, has bid euchre and darts at 1 p.m. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. and includes soup or sandwich for $2.50 and desserts for $1 to $2.
DANCING: Peterborough Scottish Country Dance Society, 6:30-9:30 p.m., The Mount, Monaghan Rd. Annual fees are $110 for adults, $45 for students, or $60/$25 for semiannual sessions (Sept.-Dec., Jan.May), Call 705-930-3108 for more information. EUCHRE: Lakefield Golden Years Centre, 275 Queen St. 7 p.m., $5 includes snacks and prizes. LENTEN LUNCHES: St. John the Baptist Anglican Church, Lakefield, noon-1 p.m. at the church. Speaker: Rev. EUCHRE: Progressive euchre in St. Martin of Tours Parish Hall at 513 Ennis Road, Ennismore, hosted by the Knights of Columbus. Entrance to Parish Hall is at rear of church. Admittance is $5 which includes prizes, 50/50 draw and refreshments. Start time is 7:30 p.m. every Thursday. New players are welcome.
