DeNoble, Korostelev could land with ECHL teams
There is a good chance Petes captain Logan DeNoble and leading scorer Nikita Korostelev will get an opportunity to continue their seasons once the Petes are done on Saturday night.
Petes interim head coach Andrew Verner said both players have been contacted, through their agent, by ECHL teams looking for help in their stretch drive.Verner said both players are weighing their options and he expects them to end up playing somewhere. There is also a chance the Edmonton Oilers could assign goalie Dylan Wells, who has already signed an NHL contract, could be assigned to one of their affiliates.
Retirement party
The Petes are going to honour long-time Memorial Centre employee Gary (Booter) Parnell prior to Saturday’s final game.
Parnell, 61, is retiring March 31 after 45 years at the PMC starting as a teenager part-time followed by more than 30 years as a fulltime employee on the operations side of the building.
The Petes will also recognize their three graduating overage players prior to the game.
Great Clips will be doing haircuts by donation in the front lobby and at the top of Section 15 with proceeds to go to charity.
The chuck-a-puck contest is in support of Random Acts of Green. They will be collecting used electronics and clothing in the front lobby.
