The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 497 will hold jams March 31, April 14, April 28 and May 12 beginning at 1 p.m. Refreshmen­ts will be available.

Accessibil­ity

There will be a Visioning and Planning workshop about accessibil­ity in the CKL March 21, 7-8:30 p.m. at Coronation Hall. All are welcome to attend and offer input.

Happy Wanderers

The Happy Wanderers, a group working under the Community Volunteers Income Tax Program will be at Trinity United Church, Apr. 13, 9 a.m.- noon and 1-3 p.m. to complete income tax returns for low income residents at no cost.

If your income is below $30,000 for singles or $40,000 for couples, you are eligible for the service. Be sure to bring all necessary receipts and paperwork with you.

Minor soccer

The Boys and Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes will be running minor soccer this year in Omemee. Online registrati­on is open at ca.apm.activecomm­unities.com

There will be an on-site registrati­on day, March 26, 6:30-8 p.m. at Scott Young Public School.

If you miss these opportunit­ies then the only other option is to register in person at the Boys and Girls Club in Lindsay.

Beef farmers

The Victoria Beef Farmers' annual banquet will be held Apr. 7 at Fenelon Township Hall, Cambray. Tickets are available from any Director.

Community care

The Community Care of City of Kawartha Lakes offers many invaluable services to the residents of our area. The office number is 705-324-7323.

Footcare is available to seniors and residents with special needs. An appointmen­t is necessary and can be made by calling 705-879-4100 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The clinic is held at Remedy RX, 108 Kent St.W., Lindsay. Upcoming clinics are March 20 and 27, Apr. 3, 10, 12, 17 and 24.

Meals on Wheels are available at a nominal cost for residents of Omemee and Downeyvill­e.

A caregiver support group for those assisting someone with a terminal or life limiting disease will be held at 2 Kent St. W., March 28 and Apr. 25, 2-3:30 p.m.; Apr. 11, 10-11:30 a.m. Call ext. 503 for details or to register.

For those newly diagnosed or undergoing cancer treatment, a Living with Cancer group will be held Apr 9, 2 p.m. at 2 Kent St. W. Call 705-879-4123 for details.

A stroke survivors support group will be held at 65 Melbourne St.W., Apr. 12, 1:30-3:30 p.m.

The Diners' Club seniors' luncheon will be held at Christ Church Anglican, 62 King St. E., Apr. 5 at noon. The luncheon is a joint effort of Community Care and the Omemee Lioness Club. Call the office to reserve a seat.

Omemee Seniors

The Omemee Seniors will meet March 20, 1 p.m. at the Omemee Legion for euchre. Cost is $2.50 per person.

A potluck will be held March 27, 12:30 p.m. at the Legion. Cost is $3.00. Please bring a dish to share as well as your personal dishes and cutlery for faster cleanup.

Food bank

If you are interested in donating to the foodbank you can make monetary donations at the TDCanada trust branch in Omemee. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at local churches or Omemee Foodland.
