Minor Bantam AE Petes ousted in semifinals

The Peterborou­gh Holiday Ford Minor Bantam AE Petes were eliminated from the Lakeshore League semifinals losing their series to Ajax 3-1.

In the first game, the Petes were defeated 5-1. Carter Rutherford had the lone goal, assisted by Matthew Robinson. The Petes played well, but lost Game 2 by a score of 3-2. Ali El-Amir and Jamie Cooper scored goals while Tyler Hogg and Cameron West had helpers.

The Petes won Game 3 in a thrilling, come-from-behind 4-3 overtime final. Will Mancini scored twice, including the OT winner, and added an assist. Owen Hazeldine had a goal and an assist and Cooper also scored. Kyle Johnson got the win in net. In Game 4, the Petes were defeated 4-1 to end their season. Austin Durand was outstandin­g in the Petes net. El-Amir had the lone goal, assisted by Hogg and Liam Medhurst.
