The Ready, Set, Spring Sale happens April 7 at Activity Haven and there are still a few spots left for vendors looking to participate. Vendor booths cost $25, but the event, which runs from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., is free for shoppers.

“Our vendors will be presenting an array of items from water fountains and jewelry to wood carvings and bird houses, also silver, handmade greeting cards, finger puppets, knitting and crocheting, preserves and jams, and so much more,” reports Thomas Whitby, Activity Haven’s volunteer and marketing c-oordinator.

During the event, the canteen will serve peameal with egg and cheese on an English muffin, carrot cake with cream cheese icing, pop and water. Barbecue burgers will be available after 11 a.m.

Mobile Water

Planning a summer fundraising event? Here’s a great idea to help keep everyone hydrated.

The Peterborough Utilities Group now has a mobile drinking water station that can be rented for a nominal cost and since it is on wheels, it can be brought right to your site to provide clean cold tap water.

The mobile station has eight water fountains and eight water bottle refill stations. It can be hooked up directly to a municipal water supply or for those events not near a water source, it can be filled to a capacity of 1,400 litres. It runs on solar power and if all 1,400 litres of water are consumed from the unit, that means 2,800 plastic water bottles weren’t used.

The Water Station is available from May through August. Requests should be submitted three weeks prior to the event, but other requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

For further information or rates email ptboh2o@peterboroughutilities. ca, call 705-7489301, ext.1258, or visit peterboroughutilities.ca and check under the water tab.

Bingo

If you enjoy playing bingo, come on out to Delta Bingo and Gaming, 1019 Clonsilla Ave Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Games played at that time help to support Activity Haven, 180 Barnardo Ave.
