A single rain barrel can save over 3,785 litres of water during peak summer months

Fairhaven Foundation is selling rain barrels as a fundraiser with pick up, just in time for the gardening season, on May 16 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

“Buy a rain barrel and help us achieve our fundraising goals,” states a release. “Rain barrels are perfect for capturing and harvesting rainwater and therefore help in water conservation. A single rain barrel can save over 3,785 litres of water during peak summer months. Rain barrels provide a free and sustainable source of water for your garden.”

Each rain barrel includes a leaf and mosquito filter basket, spigot, overflow adaptor and overflow hose. They come in different sizes and colours and accessories such as diverters and extralong overflow hoses are also available. For those who already have a rain barrel, you can order replacement parts to repair or upgrade your present unit. There is even a rolling composter available to order.
