An Ennismore man won $100,000 on an Encore ticket purchased at Jackson Park Convenience store on Parkhill Road in Peterborough in the March 23 Lotto Max draw.

Anthony Timperio, 51, matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order to win the $100,000 prize.

“I’m a regular lottery player,” stated Anthony, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I enjoy playing Lotto Max, Lotto 6/49, Lottario and Ontario 49 – always with Encore.”

Timperio, a plumber, says he stopped at the store on his way home from work to check his tickets, according to a release from Ontario Lottery and Gaming.

“I used the ticket checker to scan my ticket and the words Big Winner appeared,” he stated. “I brought the ticket to the store clerk to validate it and she told me to wait for a call from OLG.”

When Anthony returned home he texted his wife of 26 years to call him.

“When she finally called me back I asked her if she was sitting down. Then I told her I won $100,000 with Lotto Max,” he smiled.

“She didn’t believe me until she came home and saw the confirmation slip!”

Timperio plans on sharing his winnings with his wife and three children.

“Each will be getting some money for a down payment towards a house,” he said.

“Life was always good, but now the journey isn’t so stressful.”

Encore can be played in conjunction with most online lottery games for an extra $1. There is an Encoredraw every day.
