The Peterborough Petes selected left winger Dustin Hutton with the third pick overall in Wednesday night’s OHL U18 last chance draft.

Hutton, 16, played with the Vaughan Major Midget Kings in the GTHL this past season.

Born in Etobicoke, the lefts-hooting winger is five-foot-nine and 141 pounds.

He also played in six games for the Georgetown Raiders in the OJHL this past season, pickup three assists.

He played for the Mississauga Minor Midget Senators in the 2017 OHL Cup Showcase where he had an assist in four games.

The Petes picked up a goalie with their second round pick, which was 23rd overall.

Kyle Curtin played this past season with the Brantford Major Midget 99ers.

Curtin, a 16-year-old St. George, Ont. native, is five-foot-10 and 138 pounds.

By selecting a goalie in the first two rounds, the Petes were given an additional draft pick.

With that pick, the Petes took centre Brady Egan of the Pembroke Major Midget Lumber Kings.

Egan, 16, a native of Carp, Ont, near Ottawa, is five-foot-nine and 161 pounds.

He had 15 goals and 18 assists for 33 points in 39 regular season games with the Lumber Kings this past season.

The Ontario Hockey League introduced the U18 draft a year ago to give players who were overlooked in the OHL draft for minor midgets a second chance to get picked up by an OHL team while they continue in minor hockey.
