Peterborough Speedway season passes on sale

- JIM CLARKE Special to The Examiner

Peterborough Speedway has been thrilling motorsports enthusiasts across Central Ontario for more than half a century.

As the promotional team adds the finishing touches to the 51st consecutive season of action, Peterborough Speedway has put together several season ticket packages to help fans catch every second of the 2018 schedule.

“A weekly trip to the speedway is part of the same routine as going to the grocery store for some families,” track owner/ promoter J.P. Josiasse said.

“We’ve had people sitting in the same seats every Saturday night for years. They bring their kids and then their kids start bringing kids. Racing is a sport for the generations and that level of support and loyalty needs to be rewarded.”

A season pass – good for 16 regular nights of action including the 100 APC Pro Late Model event and Championship Clash – is $180. That’s a saving of $48. The super pass – with everything included in the season pass, plus the 26th Autumn Colours Classic – is $225, which is $63 off the regular grandstand admission.

Fans can also pick-up a bundle of 10 general admission passes for $130. $20 off the regular price. To learn more, select Season Passes from the Fan Info dropdown menu at www.peterboroughspeedway.com or call 705743-5880.

Again this year, the weekly divisions at the bullring on Mount Pleasant Road will run extra distance main events.

The Late Models will be first on the agenda, with a 50-lap feature June 2. Jiffy Lube Mini Stock and Super Stock teams take their turn June 23 and July 7 respectively; followed by the Battlefield Equipment Rental Bone Stocks on Aug. 11.

There will also be an added twist to the regular season-ending Championship Clash on Sept. 1, with Top 10 Shootouts for all divisions.

NOTE: Trent Lakes Complete Plumbing in Lakehurst has renewed sponsorship of the Renegade Truck division for the 2018 Peterborough Speedway season.… From April 30 to May 5 cars from Peterborough Speedway will be displayed at the Lindsay Square Mall.
