Tasty way to support PARN on Wednesday
One of the area’s easiest and tastiest fundraisers returns Wednesday.
A Taste for Life is happening at a dozen restaurants in Peterborough, Lakefield and Campbellford.
The event is a fundraiser for PARN – Peterborough AIDS Resource Network.
Participating restaurants will donate 25 per cent of their sales that day to PARN. Funds support PARN’s Rainbow Youth Program, which works with LGBTQ youth, and the Peer Engagement Program, supporting those living with HIV.
Now in its 15th year, A Taste for Life is PARN’s major fundraising event.
Dylan DeMarsh, PARN’s community resource co-ordinator, said nearly $20,000 was raised in 2017 and PARN is aiming for the same this year.
And it really doesn’t take a lot of effort to take part, he added.
“This is really one of the easiest fundraisers out there. All you need to do is book a table at a participating restaurant,” DeMarsh said at A Taste for Life’s kick off at The Publican House Brew Pub Thursday.
There are 10 restaurants to choose from in Peterborough as well as one in Campbellford and one in Lakefield.
