Register now for annual Zoo Fun Run
Registration is now underway for the annual Riverview Park and Zoo Fun Run.
The annual fundraiser is a non-competitive run through the zoo and the surrounding greenspace along the Otonabee River.
The run, with a one-kilometre route for children as well as the five-kilometre route, happens June 2.
Online early bird registration — $20 for the 1K run, $30 for the 5K – is available until Sunday at www.events.runningroom.com /site/?raceId=15038
After that, online registration is available until May 27 at $25 for the 1K and $40 for the 5K. Those fees also apply to late entries; Last-minute registration and race kit pickup will happen at the zoo’s guest services building on May 31 and June 1 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Parents can run in the 1K with their children at no cost, but will not receive a run package.
Runner race kits will not be guaranteed after Sunday, organizers state.
The 1k Kids Run will begin at 9 a.m., the 5K run at 9:15 a.m.
Healthy snacks and coffee will be provided to all runners and volunteers.
Kids who run the 1K will receive a participation medal and a Fun Run T-shirt. Adults who participate in the 5k run will receive a Fun Run T-shirt.
Proceeds from the event go to support Riverview Park and Zoo programs and operations.
