Victoria Day Speedfest Weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park

The Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, southwest of Peterborough off Highway 35/115 between Pontypool and Bowmanville, is hosting the Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend from Friday to Sunday.

The weekend features racing from six series and a slate of family activities.

Highlights include the stock cars of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series competing in the Clarington 200 and the sportscars of the Pirelli World Challenge Championship.

The three-day event also features races from the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Yokohama, the Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Pirelli, the Nissan Micra Cup Series and the Radical Challenge, according to a release from the track.

“It’s great to finally see we’re into spring and getting our 57th year underway with the Castrol, Victoria Day SpeedFest weekend,” stated Myles Brandt, president and general manager.

“We’ve had a busy off-season and we’re looking forward to what will be an exciting kick-off to our season of racing action, both on and off the track.”

Off the track will be the familyfriendly Canadian Tire Action Zone, the CTMP Marketplace (featuring a variety of vendors – some interactive) and Driver Autograph sessions.

Another highlight is the traditional Victoria Day weekend fireworks display on Saturday evening.
