-

A purse with cash and a credit card was stolen along with an empty beer keg in a break-in at a hunter St. W. bar Sunday evening.

Someone got in through a back door at about 7 p.m., city police stated.

The card was then used at a local pharmacy to purchase a pre-paid VISA card.

Police identified a suspect and located him near Aylmer and Townsend streets at about 8:40 p.m.

Jesse Armitage, 32, of Dranoel Rd., Bethany, was arrested for breaking and entering.

Police found cocaine and marijuana, as well as the stolen credit card and identification, during a search.

He was then charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, illegal use of a credit card, possession of a schedule I substance (cocaine) and possession of a schedule II substance (marijuana under 30 grams).

He was held in custody and was to appear in court Monday, city police stated.
