This Sunday Lang Pioneer Village is holding its 22nd annual Father’s Day Steam and Smoke Show, an exhibition of antique tractors, engines and farming equipment.

The event is the largest of its kind in Peterborough County, showcasing a wide array of gas and steam engines.

The Steam and Smoke Show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, $7 for kids between the ages of five and fourteen, and free for children under five.

There is also a special family price available, which include two adult admissions and four kids for $40.

A new addition to the show this year is the inclusion of antique farm trucks to the vehicles on display. There will also be displays for vintage tractors, farm collectables, gas and steam engines, antique tools, and a wide array of model vehicles.

Returning for another year are the tractor games, which include the always popular lawn tractor races. During the afternoon, to finish the show, there will be a tractor parade through Lang Pioneer Village.

While the main purpose of the event is to showcase farming equipment from collectors in the area, there are trophies available to be won, including Best Unique Exhibit, Best Display and the Lang Pioneer Village Choice Award.

The Father’s Day Smoke and Steam isn’t just educational exhibitions of antique farming equipment. There will also be local vendors and live music from Cheryl Casselman and the Dandelion Wine Band.

Visitors can also take a tractor tour through Lang Pioneer Village, watch a natural dye demonstration and learn about steam powered toys. Throughout the day there will also presentations on how steam and smoke engines were used in everyday life.
