FATHER’S DAY FUN IN THE SUN
WITH MERCEDES-BENZ PETERBOROUGH.
On a wonderful sunny Father’s Day, thousands of car enthusiasts descended on Hunter St in Peterborough to appreciate the beauty of over 90 antique, classic and exotic vehicles presented by Mercedes-Benz Peterborough.
Hunter St was closed for this family event, with all registration fees and donations from the day going to the PRHC Foundation. Select restaurants offered a ‘Father’s Day Menu’ with a percentage of their profits also adding to the total collected.
This was the first car show to be held in Peterborough to bring together such a wide range of exciting and interesting vehicles, which in turn attracted thousands in attendance from as far away as Ottawa and Toronto. “The turnout shows Peterborough loves cars”, expressed Michael Santos, General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Peterborough.
If owning some of these cars was just a dream, then between 10am and 4pm, those dreams were proudly represented by such historical names as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Mercedes-Benz, Lotus, BMW, McLaren, Alpha Romeo, Rolls
Royce, Porsche and many more. If these worldly names were not enough, there were also numerous vintage and classic vehicles and even a 1915 Model T Ford. Most vehicles were proudly contributed by locals for the show.
With the assistance of beautiful weather, the event proved a real winner for the families that came to see vehicles that would normally not be seen on the roads of Ontario. There were prize draws by the hour and to add to the fun for children, they were given the opportunity to paint a white Mercedes-Benz CLA, many adding messages for their fathers on this special day.
Although a lot of time and effort had been put in by the Mercedes-Benz Peterborough team, the support from sponsors and partners such as Shorelines Casinos, One Eighty on Hunter, Country 105, energy 99.7 FM Peterborough, Downtown Peterborough (DBIA), Gerti’s, and Kettle Drums was greatly appreciated in making this event truly successful.
