Cruise Night continues all summer at the Barn

Fundraiser July 19 benefits kids with diabetes

The Fowlers Corners’ Club holds Cruise Nights @ the Barn every Thursday from 5 p.m. – dusk, 124 Lindsay Rd., Fowlers Corners.

Come out and enjoy viewing the classic and antique vehicles. There is a 50/50 draw as well as a free draw for a trip to Las Vegas every week.

Everyone is invited to Help us Put the Brakes on Diabetes, July 19, 4 p.m. until dusk featuring Rye Street band. There will be the regular 50/50 draw as well as multiple raffles on merchandis­e and services, activities for the children and great food.

Funds raised will help support the Juvenile Diabetes Clinic at PRHC and the Summer Diabetes Camp for Kids at Camp Huronda. Rain date is July 26. For informatio­n call 705-740-6904 or email fcadlioncl­ub@gmail.com

Community Care

The Community Care of City of Kawartha Lakes offers many invaluable services to the residents of our area. The office number is 705-324-7323.

Footcare is available to seniors and residents with special needs. An appointmen­t is necessary and can be made by calling 705-8794100 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The clinic is held at Remedy RX, 108 Kent St.W., Lindsay. Upcoming clinics are July 3,10,17,24 and 31.

The Seniors’ Diners’ Club is held monthly at Christ Church Anglican, 62 King St. E. in conjunctio­n with the Omemee Lioness Club. This month’s luncheon will be July 5 at noon. Call Community Care, 705-324-7323 to reserve a seat.

Meals on Wheels are available at a nominal cost for residents of Omemee and Downeyvill­e.

A Caregiver Support Group will be held at 2 Kent St.W., July 11, 10-11:30 am and July 25, 2-3:30 pm. Call ext 503 for informatio­n.

A Stroke Survivor Support Group will be held at 65 Melbourne St.W., July 12, 1:30-3:30 pm, ext 111.

A Living with Cancer Support Group for those living with, newly diagnosed or undergoing cancer treatments will be held at 2 Kent St. W., July 9 at 2 pm. Informatio­n available by calling 705-879-4123.

For those living with illness a support group will be held at 2 Kent St. W., July 23 at 2 p.m. Call 705-879-4123 for details or to register.

Food bank

If you are interested in donating to the food bank you can make monetary donations at the TDCanada trust branch in Omemee. Non-perishable food items can be dropped off at local churches or Omemee Foodland. The foodbank is held the third Monday of each month at Christ Church Anglican.
