Trent Lakes seeking new CAO after resignation of Lois O’Neill-Jackson

- TAYLOR CLYSDALE

After the resignation of the Trent Lakes chief administrative officer, the municipality is looking for a replacement.

The vacancy was posted June 22.

Lois O’Neill-Jackson resigned from her position of four years and is no longer working for the municipality, according to Janice Platt, human resources consultant for the municipality.

O’Neill-Jackson and Trent Lakes Mayor Bev Matthews could not be reached for comment.

A chief administrative officer (CAO) runs the day-to-day operations and is the top administrator for a municipality.

Trent Lakes is now seeking an experienced CAO for the position who can work in a leadership position to develop policy and programs, Platt said.

The municipality would not be opposed to hiring internally and it “depends on who applies,” Platt said.

“You will be responsible for ensuring that council policies and programs are properly implemented, to provide information, advice and support, to develop policies, programs and strategies at council’s direction,” states the job posting.

“Ideally you are a proven leader with a successful track record as a team/relationship builder, mentor, succession planner and developer of talent.”

The listing is for a permanent, full-time position with the municipality and asks for five years experience.

The deadline to apply is July 22.
