173rd Peterborough Ex kicks off
Event runs through Sunday at Morrow Park
Cows, cars, and cotton candy anyone?
At the Peterborough Ex and you can enjoy then all. The 173rd annual event kicked off Thursday, running until Sunday at Morrow Park.
New this year is an Android app, a Friday night dance party, Sunday brunch, and a PTBO Escape challenge.
The app is free to download and is available in the Google Play store by searching “Peterborough Ex.” It’ll let visitors know what’s happening on the ground, where events are located and give livestock competition results.
The Wolf/Fresh radio dance party starts at 10 p.m., right after the Dodge Ram Rodeo Tour that begins at 7 p.m.
There’s live music Saturday afternoon featuring Highway Sunrise at noon and Rye Street at 3 p.m. in the entertainment tent, next to the beer tent.
The Sunday local food brunch is in the family tent from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Fairgoers can fill up before a day of livestock shows including goats, horse, rabbits, and sheep.
PTBO Escape is hosting a daily challenge for visitors. The Preddy family opened the business in the mall in April, following the success of Escape
Maze on their farm in Stewart Hall. Daily challenges will have Ex visitors searching the fair grounds for clues as they solve puzzles to win prizes. The World’s Finest Midway will start spinning at 1 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Other fairgoer favourites are back too, including the KenJen Petting Zoo, the antique car show, Presidents Choice Superdogs, Peterborough Axe Company, and homecraft exhibits.
Admission for all four days is $10 and kids under five are free.
