Peterborough Lakers athletic therapist Natasha Lagace joins Petes as assistant athletic trainer
The Peterborough Petes have announced the promotion of Noah Bucholtz and addition of Natasha Lagacé to their hockey operations department on Thursday.
Bucholtz has been named the team’s video coach after serving as a part-time video co-ordinator for the last three seasons. His role will involve editing game film to assist the coaching staff in scouting opponents and analyzing tactics and systems.
Having grown up in Peterborough, Bucholtz is currently enrolled at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology in Oshawa, where he is completing a bachelor of commerce degree.
He has been a longtime volunteer with the team in numerous roles with both the business and hockey operations departments.
“I’m very excited to have earned an expanded, full-time role with the Petes,” Bucholtz stated in a club press release.
“I look forward to using my experience to help the team achieve their on-ice goals.”
Lagacé has been named the team’s assistant athletic trainer. In her role, she will assist head trainer and equipment manager Brian Miller in tending to the medical needs of the players.
A native of Toronto, Lagacé holds a specialized honours kinesiology and health science degree and athletic therapy certificate from York University.
As a certified athletic therapist and registered massage therapist, she currently serves as the athletic therapist for the Peterborough Lakers and has previously held roles with the Toronto Argonauts, National Ballet of Canada and numerous varsity teams.
Lagacé will continue in her role at Return to Function at Hybrid FHP while working with the Petes.
“Since relocating here I’ve realized that Peterborough is very passionate about their sports teams. Now I get to be a part of that passion and excitement, but from a different perspective, doing what I love,” Lagacé stated.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to help the players be healthy off the ice so that they can be successful.”
“These additions to our hockey operations department will enhance our program to the benefit of both our players and our coaches,” stated Petes general manager Mike Oke.
