Petes playing exhibition games on Sept. 1 and 2

The Peterborough Petes will open their 2018 training camp on Monday with fitness testing, followed by several days of scrimmage games and practices, including Wednesday night’s annual Maroon and White Game, before playing two exhibition games over the Labour Day long weekend.

In addition to returning players and draft picks, the training camp will see the debut of new Petes import picks Liam Kirk and Erik Cermak.

First-round draft pick Will Cuylle and third-round draft pick Jack Bar are not reporting to the camp to maintain their NCAA eligibility, while overage goalie Dylan Wells is now in the Edmonton Oilers farm system.

The Petes play Peterborough native Cedric Ralph and the Guelph Storm on at 7 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph and then host their long-time rivals the Oshawa Generals at 2:05 p.m. Sept. 2 at the Memorial Centre.

More than 60 players are competing for a spot on the 2018-19 Petes roster. Training camp scrimmage team rosters will be announced Monday.

11:10 a.m. – Team Pat McAuley vs Team Lansdowne Place

5:30 p.m. – Team Lansdowne Place vs Team Pat McAuley

6:20 p.m. – Team East Side Mario’s vs Team Pat McAuley

7:10 p.m. – Team East Side Mario’s vs Team Lansdowne Place

Wednesday

8:30 a.m. – Team East Side Mario’s vs Team Pat McAuley

9:20 a.m. – Team Pat McAuley vs Team Lansdowne Place

10:10 a.m. – Team Lansdowne Place vs Team East Side Mario’s

7:05 p.m. – Maroon and White Game (free admission)

Thursday

All training camp games will be streamed for free on the Petes Facebook page and mobile app.

Tickets for pre-season games at the Memorial Centre will go on sale Sunday starting at noon at the box office.

Single game regular season tickets will go on sale on Thursday at 9:30 am. Flex pack holders can redeem their vouchers for regular season games beginning Monday at 9:30 a.m.
